Polymer Insulators
Polymer insulators are used in high voltage Transmission and Distribution towers and power poles. These insulators keep the voltage from energizing the tower or pole and becoming a safety hazard. Different polymers are suited for specific applications, and can be molded into any shape desired. They are capable of handling from 15KV to 500KV.
Insulators may be used in a variety of applications. High voltage research and development laboratories need insulators that will not burn out when tested, high voltage power generators must have the right insulators.
Polymer insulators are made to ANSI standards, are excellent at withstanding ozone, UV and harsh weather conditions, and offer superior hydrophobicity. They can be mounted in either the horizontal or vertical positions, and are manufactured in a variety of voltages to cover virtually every high voltage insulation need.
