Electrical Power Distribution

Above Ground Polymer Insulators

such as dead ends and switch posts, insulate power lines from ground.

In-Line disconnect Switch Insulators

These polymer dead end insulators are an integral component of a 3-phase in-line switch that enables disconnecting each phase independently for line to safely service other electrical devices, such as pole mounted transformers.

Phase Spacers Sheds

EPDM or Silicone molded weather sheds are used on phase spacers which separate each of the 3 phases on electrical distribution lines.

Polymer Fused Cutout Housings

These insulators are used for electrical distribution line equipment safety protection. The assembled fused cutout is designed to disconnect current flow to pole mounted transformers when a line is struck by lightening. The cutouts can also be used to mechanically disconnect the line from the transformer by a lineman using a hot stick. This allows de-energizing the transformer in a specific location without interruption of electrical service in neighboring locations.

Recloser Air Bushings

Six of these polymer insulators are used on Recloser Devices to allow 3 phase in and out current flow. The recloser assembly is an equipment safety device which senses a current ground fault and prevents surge damage to transformers by de-energizing the electrical lines. It is also a human safety device in that it will discontinue electrical service until a downed power line is repaired. If the line fault is temporary, the recloser tests the current flow after a few seconds and will resume current flow if no ground fault is detected.

Surge Lightening Arrester Housings

These polymer insulators are molded from silicone rubber material and are the insulator used to house MOV stacks for surge lightening arrester assemblies. The arresters are assemble to all 3 phases on pole mounted transformers to prevent damage from lightening strikes on the power lines.

Underground Connectors

These insulators are used in below ground power distribution to residential areas. They are molded from a semi-conductive EPDM rubber material for straight connectors Elbow connectors and other insulator components for the underground power feed lines to pad mounted transformers.
